I moved to Georgia in 1993 from Southern California where I grew up in San Diego. I went to college at Long Beach State University where I got my first BA degree in studio art. I earned my second degree 20 years later in education here in GA at Kennesaw State Univ. In 2009 I received a Masters in Curriculum and Education from Lesley University. I've been working at Creek View since 2002. I've been married for 29 years to my husband Mike and we have two children. Kevin is 26, is going to school for Motor Sports technician and loves rock climbing. Julie is 24 is a UGA graduate and working as a CPA for KPMG. We have 3 orange cats and I love to vacation at the beach,go boating at Lake Lanier, read, and do puzzles.
Simone Maranto I grew up in a small town in Germany which offered many opportunities to study art. There was the college for graphic design, the college for gold and silver smiths and the college for teachers. I wanted to do it all, but I had to make a decision. I wanted to be more creative and share my inspirations with others –I decided to become a teacher for Elementary and Junior High School. Twenty years ago, I immigrated to the United States to live with my husband Luke. About 17 years ago I held my first art teaching positions at Medlock Bridge and Dolvin Elementary School. Three years later my daughter Sabina was born and I decided to become a full time mom. My son Kevin joined our family two years later. Staying home with my family gave me the opportunity to follow my artistic interests and further develop my skills. I gained a deeper understanding for drawing, explored the acrylic medium, and had fun with the new technology of digital photography. I reached a new level of creativity when I focused on jewelry making and silver smithing. I finally did it all! I am excited to teach art again as a teacher in Fulton County at Creek View and Dolvin Elementary Schools. I am looking forward to a great creative school year. I can’t wait to share my excitement with my students!
